I’ve had so many opportunities, and with each new season and each new role, I love this profession even more.

Elisabeth's Childhood

Elisabeth was born in Berlin, Germany. Her parents, a Bulgarian father and Spanish mother, were long-time members of the Staatsballett Berlin and had opened their own ballet school before her birth. Elisabeth was surrounded by ballet from an early age. Yet, they deliberately held back, understanding the profession’s demanding nature and wanting her passion to be entirely her own. Even so, it became clear that ballet was simply meant for her.

Professional Training

At 10, Elisabeth enrolled in the Staatliche Ballettschule in Berlin, leaving her parents’ school. By 16, while still a student, she was regularly performing in the Staatsballett Berlin’s major classical productions. Nonetheless, driven by a desire to define her own destiny and not merely follow in her parents’ footsteps, in 2019, Elisabeth joined the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet after receiving an invitation from Associate Artistic Director Rachel Beaujean.

Early Career

Elisabeth joined the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet for the 2019/2020 season, and her career took off swiftly. Within a year, she secured an élève contract with Dutch National Ballet. In her debut season, Elisabeth and her fellow élève Davi Ramos were personally selected by Rachel Beaujean to perform in Hans van Manen’s Live, a piece by a grand Dutch choreographer. Promotions followed in rapid succession; in 2023, after stepping in for an injured dancer in Grand Pas Classique during the Dutch National Ballet’s U.S. tour, Elisabeth was named a soloist by the company director Ted Brendsen.

2025-

New Chapter in Munich

Elisabeth’s remarkable career continues its ascent. In 2024, she received the prestigious German Konstanze Vernon prize from the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung. This recognition led to an invitation to join the Bayerisches Staatsballett as a Principal Dancer from the upcoming 2025/2026 season.

When you dance, you have to get personally involved and dare to be yourself. In the end, individuality is what it’s all about.
